Your Personal Policies And Procedures

Imagine a store that doesn't bother putting together any policies or procedures. Think about how frustrating it would be to do business with a company that had no boundaries, no guidelines, no rules...

Gasoline Vs. Diesel -- An Age-Old Dilemma

When we bought our tow vehicle, Matt and I talked to other full-timers about whether we should go diesel or gasoline. The general consensus was that diesel would get you more power going up a steep incline, but that if you didn't spend a lot of time in the mountains, gas would be fine. However, no one ever discussed the concept of "altitude" with us -- and we learned the difference between the two the hard way as we just drove through the Rockies for the first time this past week...

Keep, Get Rid Of, And Not Sure

Cleaning out can seem overwhelming -- especially if it's been a while since you've done it. But following this very simple process will help you sort and separate your belongings into manageable piles! When you begin clearing an area, you should have three large boxes close at hand. One box is labeled "Keep" -- one is labeled "Get Rid Of" -- and the third is labeled "Not Sure"...

20 Ways To Tell Someone "No"

Tell me if this sounds familiar -- someone asks you to do something that you really don't want to do or you honestly don't have time for. It might be a church bake sale, a school fundraiser, participating on a committee, or even just working late. You want very badly to decline, but you worry that you'll let the other person down if you say no.

Overnight Parking At Truck Stops -- The Full-Timer's "Motel 6"

When you're on your way from somewhere to somewhere and just need to stop for the night, RVers definitely have the advantage over car travelers. You have your home with you, you don't have to worry about hotel reservations, you can sleep in your own bed and eat your own food for breakfast. But you can't just pull off the side of the road and you may not be able to find an affordable RV park in the middle of nowhere for just one night. What do you do?

Asking The Hard Questions

Some people have an awfully hard time letting something go on the first go-round. They vacillate, back and forth, trying to decide if they will regret the decision. So I want to talk to you a bit about "waffling" as you are trying to clean out unnecessary clutter...

Eliminating Time Wasters

If you ask a group of people to define "time management", they will probably talk about getting it all done, crossing items off of a list, and being productive. However, good time management is not the ability to cram more and more into your day. It's a mindset that helps focus your time on those activities that are most valuable and meaningful to you.

Casino RVing In Vegas

We just spent a couple of days in Las Vegas -- this is the first time that we have parked our Airstream at a casino RV park. Aside from the fact that it's hotter than an oven outside and we have to run our air conditioner 24 hours a day just to keep from melting, I think Vegas is a fantastic place to RV. And I'm definitely on board with this "casino RVing" thing...

Letting Go Of Your Excuses

At this point, you have probably run across some belongings that don't exactly serve a practical purpose in your life. Of course, some items simply cannot be judged according to their function alone. Certain objects, such as artwork or collectibles, are kept because they are aesthetically pleasing. Others are treasured for their sentimental value. What do to?
